Signed copies of Stuck by Oliver Jeffers

The very delightful Oliver Jeffers popped into the shop to sign copies of his new book Stuck. It's a story of one boy and a very stuck kite in a tree! A funny and unpredictable story that went down very well in storytime this week (one child could recreate the sound of everything from a cat to a bathtub, excellent participation skills!).

Catch the signed copies now, we also have signed copies of his other titles - while they last!

Thank you to Oliver, generous as ever and Tiffany from Harpercollins.

You, Me and Thing - Karen McCombie competition!!!!

Karen McCombie, author of the great series Ally's World and the super fun Indie Kidd titles is back with You, Me and Thing. A very funny story of when Ruby and Jackson find a Thing living at the bottom of their gardens. All sorts of crazy happenings begin to take place and they find themselves mixed up in all the chaos of jelly babies, magic and trouble!

To celebrate the publication of this new book, we have an excellent competition. Pop into the shop and marvel at the very full jar of jelly babies and guess how many jelly babies there are and the correct guess (or the nearest guess) wins the whole jar!!!!!!! Closing date for all entries are Sunday 9th October.

Tony DiTerlizzi was amazing!

Wow, what an amazing afternoon we had at The Golden Treasury when master storyteller and illustrator extraordinaire Tony DiTerlizzi came into the shop for a brilliant in-store event. We were also very exctied to have actress Sarah Bolger accompany him. Sarah, who played Mallory Grace in the Spiderwick Chronicles film, was a wonderful partner for Tony's readings.

As you can see he drew his way through the session, delighting the audience with his funny tales and theories! We had a packed house here, with lots of enthusiatic fans, lots of new ones and the biggest fans, our staff!

A huge thank you Tony, Sarah, the brilliant Georgia and of course all our great customers.

The Dog Detectives!

Here we are, finally sharing some photos of the Dog Dectectives event! Fin and Zoa came along to The Golden Treasury to share their brilliant stories of Dectective Jack and Deputy Poco Loco, with the two stars in tow (literally!).

Reading to a packed shop, Fin and Zoa shared the amazing adventures of these two doggy PI's as they try to solve mysteries all over the world.

Everyone loved their visit and of course Jack took it all in his stride and lapped up the belly rubs, while little Poco was a bit more comfy under Zoa's chair the whole time.

Thank you to everyone who came! Signed copies are in the shop now!

I Hate School! Not really.....

As September has crept closer, the prospect of school has been looming ahead for many little ones. Honor Brown is one child who does not like school, in fact, she hates school!

This brilliantly funny story by master storyteller Jean Willis, tells the story of Honor who only has bad things to say about school and they get more and more ludicrous.

A wonderfully funny persepctive of school, sure to make everyone laugh the school blues away!
