The Golden Treasury Book Club

Our book clubbers enjoyed making friendship bracelets (courtesy of Klutz) while talking about the importance of friendship in Emma Kennedy's Wilma Tenderfoot and the Case of the Frozen Hearts. We could imagine Wilma making a bracelet for her best friend, Pickle!

Once a month The Golden Treasury Book Club meets to talk about an assigned book and complete related activities. We are always looking for new members, so anyone between the ages of 9-12 is more than welcome to join! Our next meeting is Monday, 4 October from 4:30-5:15. We'll be discussing The Great Ghost Rescue by Eva Ibbotson. If you'd like to join, just give us a call!

Forget cupcakes, here comes the mighty iced biscuit!

Iced biscuits are no longer confined to the parties of our youth, where the obligatory tray of Party Rings would be laid out for quick consumption. The Biscuiteers have made an art out of them and so can you, with their new book.

We were kindly given some biscuits from the chic Paris collection (we enjoyed the Eiffel Tower, a pink french poodle and the Arc de Triomphe!) and not only were they beautiful, they were very delicious too.

So look out for this new book on our shelves, as the biscuit is the new cupcake.

Christmas too soon?

We will be sending out a mailout soon (so make sure that you are on our mailing list!), to confirm that we have some very exciting author illustrators coming to the shop in the run-up to Christmas.

Puffin Designer Classics

We are very pleased to be able to offer the Puffin Designer Classics for sale in the shop. These books have been published to celebrate Puffin's 70th birthday this year and they are very limited edition with only a 1000 of each title having been produced.

These classic stories have unique new covers designed by key cultural figures of today. The chosen titles are:
